Religious intolerance in Dambulla

On the 20th of April 2012, a large mob led by the Mahanayaka of the Rangiri Dambulu chapter stormed the Dambulla Khariya mosque premises demanding its demolition – alleging that the mosque was an illegal construction built within the sacred area belonging to the local temple.
